New Earrings

I just finished these earrings and I really love them! I call them "Hugs and Kisses",and you'll understand why when you see the closeups.

The stones are a pale pink rose quartz and they hang on a fine chain which give them alot of movement. I love them so much that I made a pair for myself using moonstones and a slightly different chain.

Busy as a bee.

The warm weather finally came and stayed for a bit. It's been so lovely to be warm and have these long sunshine filled days. I have been busy getting ready for a show this Saturday, and here's a peek at something new that I've been working on.
These are some of the rolled "talisman" beads that I've done. Each one has a few word on it,but you don't see it all,It's sort of a little secret that the wearer has.
The beads looks wonderful on a chain or leather cord, alone or in multiples. The are sterling silver and handcrafted by me,I will have them available at this show.
If you can't make it to the show and are interested in a bead then please contact me. The cost is $15.00 plus $3.00 for shipping. These are the quotes available right now.

The last couple of days have been cold, dark, gloomy, and rainy,I dislike this kind of weather with a passion. A friend once told me that maybe it had to do with losing loved ones during this kind of weather. I suppose that could be true,my grandmother, husband, father, and brother all died when the weather was like this. I don't believe I always felt this way,I remember as a child that on rainy days I would make tents inside the house for my brother, sister and I to play in. As I got older,I would bake bread,or cakes during this kind of weather,my sister remembers this vividly since our mom was not much of a baker. Maybe now being older, this weather just hurts, the muscles in my back spasm,my joints ache and all I want is to be warm. Whatever the reason might be,hopefully the weather changes back to warm and sunshiney soon,I know that the roses and I will be much happier with that!

Berries and Roses

This was the lovely bowl full of raspberries that I had for breakfast. The berries are here is Southern California and I have taken full advantage since they are some of my favorite fruits. Jim liked blackberries best of all, although raspberries were a close second. I was a bit meloncholy while eating these and thinking of my dear, sweet husband.

Don't they look like jewels?

My daddy's roses are blooming and the colors and scents are so gorgeous. I have been trying very hard to maintain them,I haven't my father's green thumb,(he was a farmer's son),but I do try.
This beauty just had to come inside with me. It's actually from the last rosebush that my grandmother planted around 50 years ago! The scent is so full and glorious and reminds me so much of my grandma, she always smelled of roses or violets.
Tonight I will set this flower on my night table and hopefully have wonderful dreams.

Mmmm, pistachio macarons for breakfast. I bought these at a favorite french bakery in Escondido. I don't get there very often, but when I do,well you can see what happens. There isn't a photo of the beautiful brioche, because I ate first and then thought about getting out the camera.
Here's an Easter photo of Nick and I. He had been home for a whole week on spring break and I was so happy to have him here. He's back at school and work now and as always,my heart is a bit broken.
