My Window

The heat has let up a bit today,(it's been terribly hot for this time of year),and I've once again been able to sit at my window and work.

The photo is a bit fuzzy,but you can see that I've rolled the sterling silver talisman beads onto vintage keys.

I also managed to get a shot of one of the hummingbirds that come to the feeders I have right outside my window. These little birds and their antics delight me all day long. When the feeders are empty they come right up to the screen and look in on me and start chattering away.

This is stained glass dragonfly also hangs in the window and the blue-green colors are so gorgeous in the late afternoon sun. My friends Nanc gifted me with this piece many years ago and I'm always a bit amazed,(and grateful),that he has managed to stay in one piece for so many years.



Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to you all and especially to my dear mom! I took this photo just last month,...aren't mom and her great-grand-daughter Jordan beautiful?! Mommy has 3 children,(my brother is deceased),9 grand-children,and 9 great-grand-children.

Workspace

The last couple of days have been spent working on the Talisman Bangles.

As you can see I'm not one who has a nice tidy work space,but then again I don't know many people who do. I work on a vintage metal typing table that belonged to my brother. He used it as a bedside table,but I think he would like the fact that I have it and now pound out wonderful adornments on it. This table sits under the window and I so enjoy watching the hummingbirds come to the feeders that I have hanging outside. Sometimes those tiny birds come right up to the screen and look in at me,I like to think that I might be just as interesting to them as they are to me.

New Bangles!

I had a lovely time at Art in the Yard this past Saturday and look forward to November when we get to do it again. ;o) As usual I didn't get to take any photos,but my friend Nanc did and hopefully she will send them to me. I did get photos of a new design that I've been working on.

I love these adjustable bangles with the rolled talisman beads! They are very comfortable to wear and the bit of silk tied onto it give it a lovely pop of color.

 I have a very wide square sort of hand,so bangles can be difficult for me to put on. This design is great because you can open it a bit to slide on and off.

 Some of the bangles are brass and some are sterling,some of the beads are copper and some are sterling. It's gonna take me a bit to figure out the pricing,but I'll let you know when I do. Meanwhile I got to get the one's for the family done,one for mom for her 75th birthday,one for my sister,(just because she wants one),lol,and one for my niece's birthday!

Getting ready for my favorite show tomorrow!

Art in the Yard is always fun and the vendors are wonderful. The weather is looking good,so come out to the garden and join us.

May Day!

Happy May Day to you all,here is a lovely little posy for you!

I had a wonderful surprise early this morning,a dear friend called from a distant and dangerous part of the world. He is well and safe and will be home soon,all of which I was very,very,grateful to hear. Having gone thru so many losses in the last few years,I don't think my heart could deal with another one right now.

Over the weekend I was surprised to see another old friend at one of my shows. While chatting,he told me of some photos that he had of a Christmas that he had spent with my family about 10 or so years ago. He emailed the pictures to me and I was so excited to see shots of my husband,father and brother,(they are no longer in this world).

 

Here is my sweet husband helping one of the great-nephews open presents.

Daddy adored his family and his great-grand-children were especially dear to him.

My brother and his grandson,he doted on this one and the little boy has taken his grandpa's death very hard. I was so grateful that my friend had saved these all this time and was good enough to send them to me.

Next show and new work!

Had a busy,busy weekend,it was alot of fun,but oh so tiring. I did not take one photo the whole weekend,but the following is a photo my friend Nanc took of Jo and I on Sunday,(we shared at table at this particular show).

I am now getting ready for this coming Saturday and I'm so looking forward to it,Art in the Yard is my favorite show!

You should really stop by if you can,Sue and Tracy's garden is gorgeous this time of the year. This is a new piece that I will have with me.
